Our innovation-driven path aims at valorising waste, but also promotes energy efficiency through the creation of new solutions for energy storage. By reusing batteries in new products, energy storage systems, and innovative solutions, we are leading the battery sector towards a more sustainable and responsible energy future.
Through that commitment, with innovation and knowledge, b.again is leading a Business Project of the Portuguese Innovation Pact, the New Generation Storage agenda.
New Generation Storage
The New Generation Storage Innovation Pact aligns with the European Union's strategy for energy transition by 2040 with full electrification of mobility by 2035.
Structured into 8 Work Packages and involving 47 entities, it aims to create a competitive and technological ecosystem for the national battery sector transforming into a complete and circular value chain.
Part of Work Package 5 - "Recycling and Second Life," b.again leads an innovative Business Project called "End-of-life assessment and diagnosis, 2nd life and recycling pilot line." This project aims to develop a highly circular and sustainable solution to address challenges related to safety and use of end-of-life batteries, and its environmental impact. Through this effort, b.again is focused on solving and develop new processes and technological solutions. By the end of the project, new secure and sustainable processes are expected to be in place to address end-of-life battery logistics, secure storage, diagnosis, second-life applications or recycling, aiming to a more responsible use of batteries and ensuring an energy transition and sustainable mobility.
